PURPOSE:To remove horizontal copying saddle and reduce the machine-costs by roughly positioning in horizontal direction one female screw of female screw block installed on a parent saddle by means of cross feed screw of a cross beam and allowing the other female screw to perform precision copying of a tool in accordance with a sensor. CONSTITUTION:When roughly positioning a machining tool 12 in relation to a workpiece 9, since a ball screw 29 does not rotate, a female screw block 25 travels as an integral part of a parent saddle 7 by means of horizontal copying ball female screw 30, screw 29, and servo-motor 14 in accordance with the direction of ball screw 26. Rough-positioning of the saddle 7 in vertical direction is also performed by driving a vertical drive unit and allowing vertical travel of cross beam 5, and after this, the tool 12 is set. Next, a truck travels on a rail and required machining is performed. The vertical copying - drive mechanism 23 actuates the tool 12 by signals detecting and outputting strains in the vertical direction by means of vertical copying sensor 11 located on the bottom of a child saddle 10, and a horizontal precision copying is also performed by output-signals of horizontal copying sensor 19. Thus, the operation costs can be reduced without in stalling hoirzontal copying saddle. |
