PURPOSE:To attain automatic white balance adjustment in following surely to light projected on an object at all times by providing a white color section to a front face side of a face plate so as to form a white color image with direct light from the object to a part at the outside of an effective screen thereby adjusting automatically the white balance based thereupon. CONSTITUTION:White films 4 and 5 equivalent to a white filter are formed by, e.g., printing them on the face of a face plate 1 to a part upper/lower 9 horizontal lines' share of ineffective region of an effective screen region 2 on the face plate face 1. The white color image is formed from the incident light on a photoelectric converting face at the ineffective region via a path of white film 5-face plate 1-color separation filter 7-index electrode 8. The image pickup output of the white image is extracted and the white balance is adjusted based thereupon, then the white balance is adjusted with a direct light from an object. |
