PURPOSE:To obtain a fused salt fuel cell having a high output performance and a long life by forming silver layers at least on areas of a bipolar plate which touch a gas electrode installed on the side of an oxidation gas. CONSTITUTION:A bipolar plate 5 is formed (e.g.) by pressing an SUS316 plate by means of a metallic mold. Projections 6 formed on the bipolar plate 5 are brought into contact with a gas electrode to perform current collecting. In order to form silver layers 7 on the tops of the projections 6, a conductive silver layers 7 on the tops of the projections 6, a conductive silver paste principally composed of minute silver particles and an organic solvent is applied to the areas by screen printing. Next, the thus obtained body is put in a dryer and sufficiently dried. Baking of the dried body is performed after it is assembed into a battery and when the temperature of the battery is increased during its starting. |
