PURPOSE:To execute with high accuracy a sensing of an absolute quantity of information to be measured, without depending on a vibration and a temperature variation, by separating a light having a polarized component of two optical main axial directions, in its emitting side, and simultaneously, taking a beat by multiplexing it with a light whose frequency is different. CONSTITUTION:Light from a laser light source 21 is divided by a beam splitter 22, and one light is made incident to a double refraction medium 27. As for this double refractive medium, an electro-optical crystal, etc. such as rutile, calcite, or LiNbO3, KDP, etc. whose double refraction is varied electrically are considered. In this case, as for the double refractive medium 27, for instance, a constant polarizing fiber is used. Also, laser light 32 divided by the beam splitter 22 and emitting light of the double refractive medium are synthesized on a polarizing and separating prism 25. In this way, a sensing of an absolute quantity of information to be measured can be executed with high accuracy without depending on a vibration and a temperature variation. |
