PURPOSE:To enable reliable detection of a trouble, by a method wherein, in a brake holding device which is adapted to be actuated in linkage with the operation of a clutch device so as to facilitate the starting of a car on an ascent road, an alarming operation is effected through operation of a switch in linkage with excess movement of a control shaft. CONSTITUTION:A titled device is braked in a way that, when a vehicle is brought to a stop on an ascent road, working fluid, generated from a master cylinder through pedalling of a brake pedal, is supplied from connecting holes 7 and 8 to each wheel cylinder through valve devices A, B and connecting holes 9 and 10. A shaft part 19 of a plunger 15 is moved aside from a valve seat 16 with a cam 11 moved rightward through rotation of a control shaft 12 in linkage with disengaging control of a clutch through a wire 54, a valve member 20 is seated on a valve seat 16 under gravity, and this holds a liquid pressure on the wheel cylinder side. In which case, when the control shaft 12 is rotated due to some cause, such rotation is detected by a switch, not shown, to actuate an alarming device such as buzzer. |
