PURPOSE:To display speedily only a real chatter time which includes no delay time through a simple circuit by storing the count value of a delay counter in an output register after the delay counter finishes counting and also displaying the count value. CONSTITUTION:When a control circuit 1 detects a contact input signal which is 1 from a switch, the delay counter 3 is released from being reset and the gate of a measurement counter 4 is held at 1 to start measuring operation; and a clock is sent out to a buffer register 5 to transfer the contents of the measurement counter 4. When the control circuit 1 detects the input signal which is 0, a reset signal is sent out to the delay counter 3. When the control circuit 1 detects the input signal which is 1, the same operation is performed. Then when the delay counter 3 detects the elapse of a preset maximum chatter time, an end signal is sent out to an output register 6 and the contents of the buffer register 5 are stored as the chatter time which does not include the delay time.
