The invention relates to gymnastics equipment for the abdominal muscles and has the purpose of developing the abdominal muscles in a simple manner even in human beings who are not very practised in sports activities. According to the invention, a chair-like device is provided for this purpose in which the seat part firmly stands on the ground, whereas the backrest is pivotably fitted on the seat part and can be tilted backwards by the back counter to spring forces or weights (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
