PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts items of an optical device, a laser module with optical isolator, and to facilitate the assembling thereof by a method wherein an incident polarizing lens is installed in between a semiconductor laser and a Faraday rotor and an emission polarizing lens is installed in between the Faraday rotor and an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:An incident polarizing lens 10 is inserted in between a semiconductor laser 1 and a Faraday rotor 2, and a semiwavelength plate 3 and an emission polarizing lens 11 are inserted in between the rotor 2 and an optical fiber 4. The lenses 10 and 11 shall be both the uni-axial type of crystal and the respective optical axis is set vertically to the junction face of the laser 1. When light is made to incide in the laser module with optical isolator constituted in such a way, the laser module fulfills its function as an optical isolation. |
