PURPOSE:To obtain a high-pressure discharge lamp with no flickering and a high efficiency by providing a wave generation preventive device to prevent the generation of waves on the surface of a reservoir consisting of melted additional materials. CONSTITUTION:A wave generation preventive device is provided to prevent the generation of waves on the surface of a reservoir 6 consisting of melted additional materials. For example, a disk 8 is provided so as to cover the surface of the reservoir 6 of melted additional materials. In this way, the surface of the reservoir 6 of melted additional materials is separated from the convection, and no waves are generated on the surface of the reservoir 6. Therefore, the transmittal amount of additional materials becomes constant in terms of time, causing no flickering. |
