PURPOSE:To execute efficiently extraction of a data value and branch to processing in response to the value of a tag by providing data with tag as the internal expression of a computer. CONSTITUTION:A tag decoding instruction is stored in an instruction register 3 in executing a tap decoding instruction and binary data is stored in a data register 4. The value of a tag area of the data register 4 is fed to an address operation circuit 6 via a data line 52. The field of an OPRND-2 stored in the instruction register 3 is fed to the address operation circuit 6. As a result, an output of the address operation circuit 6 becomes an address of a table representing a branched address and an address of an instruction executed next to the tag decoding instruction is obtained by storing a data stored on a main storage 1 to a read program counter 2 via the address line 54 to complete the branch processing.
