The lid is intended for use on a kitchen utensils to convert it into a pressure cooker. It consists of a metal, dome-shaped body with an edge which curves downwards. An annular element is positioned around the edge, and can be contracted from a position around the projecting rim of the container, to a position where it is held underneath the projecting rim. The annular element has a segmented shape and radially projecting parts. A plate-shaped piece has an opening through which the radial parts pass, and a mobile arm, with hole on which is a safety valve.
