PURPOSE:To prevent an erroneous action and to smoothen operation by confirming various kinds of action conditions concerning a color mode by an electronic view finder which projects a monochrome picture. CONSTITUTION:When a microcomputer 9 outputs a control signal by an information signal from a chroma processing circuit 8, the character pattern signal, which is generated in a character pattern signal generating circuit 10 by said control signal, is supplied to an adder 11, synthesized with a picture signal from a picture signal output circuit 6, and supplied to an electronic view finder 13. Therefore, the character pattern, which showns operating condition of a color video camera such as chroma inversion and switching of color/monochrome modes, is indicated by the electronic view finder 13. In this case a character pattern signal is not included in the picture signal outputted from an output terminal 7, and an unnecessary character pattern which shows the operating condition of a color video camera is not displayed on a television receiver. |
