发明名称 PREPARATION OF DRAWN SUBSTANCE OF CRYSTALLINE POLYMER OF HIGH STRENGTH AND HIGH ELASTICITY MODULUS
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a drawn substance of a crystalline polymer having high strength and high elasticity modulus, by compression-molding a polymer gel at a temperature lower than the temperature at which the gel is dissloved. CONSTITUTION:A gelled substance obtained by cooling a solution of a cystalline polymer is compression-molded at a temperature lower than the temperature of the dissolution of the gelled substance and then is drawn, and thereby a drawn substance of the crystalline polymer having high strength and high elasticity modulus is obtained. When the crystalline polymer is of polyethylene, a drawn substance of higher strength and higher elasticity modulus can be obtained by setting molecular weight to be 2X10<5> or above. It is perferable in this case that the concentration of the polymer in a solution is 0.5wt% or above. The gelled substance is compression-molded, for instance, either by extruding the substance continuously from an orifice by means of a screw extruder or by making it pass through between compression rollers to be formed into a filament, a bar or a flat plate. A substance of higher strength and higher elasticity modulus can be obtained by drawing a compression-molded substance after a solvent contained in this substance is removed therefrom so that it be 5wt% or less with respect to the crystalline polymer.
