For an installation cabinet of a medium-voltage or low-voltage switching and distribution installation, which is equipped with an earthing shaft which runs close to and approximately parallel to its rear surface and for its part can be pivoted into an earthing and a non-earthing position by means of a rotating linkage (which is guided with respect to the front surface) and an angle drive, it is proposed to provide the rotating linkage (25) with a crank-like bend (26, 27) on its end facing the earthing shaft (21), the free end (27) of which bend engages between two operating elements (33, 34) which are placed approximately axially parallel to the earthing shaft but run at a radial distance therefrom. These operating elements are rigidly connected to the earthing shaft and, on rotation of the rotating linkage, can be pivoted with simultaneous rotation of the earthing shaft, by means of the free end, which engages between them, of the crank-like bend. Such a crank drive for the earthing shaft is simple in construction and handling and requires no particularly precise parts. <IMAGE>
