The invention relates to a process for purifying MG-silicon which, in the liquid phase, is dispersed into silicon granules. To this end, a liquid silicon jet is applied to a vibrator (9) excited at an ultrasonic frequency, as a result of which particularly fine spherules of granular material are produced. Said spherules are subsequently surface-etched, in order to remove the superficial impurities. <IMAGE>
