PURPOSE:To make an engine for an outboard motor, having no exhaust passage, usable as an inboard and outboard combined one as well as to prevent any heat conduction from the exhaust side to the oil pan side, by forming an oil pan and an exhaust passage both in an engine mount, while installing a cooling water jacket in position between both of them. CONSTITUTION:An engine mount 4 is installed on an engine installing block 3 at the inboard side via vibro-isolating rubber 5 and on the top of which an engine is mounted, while both of an intermediate case 7 and a lower case 8 surrounding a drive shaft 9 for driving a propeller 10 are coupled to the lower part in order from topside. An oil pan 41 opening its upper end is formed in the central part of the engine mount 4 and thereby lubricating oil is fed to the engine side from a suction pipe 42. At the rear side of the oil pan 41, there is provided with an exhaust passage 43 which interconnects an upper end opening part to an exhaust port of the engine 6, while a cooling water jacket 48 is installed in position between the oil pan 41 and the exhaust passage 43. |
