PURPOSE:To regulate and cool satisfactorily a spiral coil of a rolled wire rod and to make the heat-treated structure thereof uniform by holding the respective loop parts of said coil in a spaced state and conveying the coil in a duct in which cold air flows and water mist is sprayed. CONSTITUTION:A rolled wire rod is formed to a spriral coil 12 and discharged from a looper 11 and is conveyed at a prescribed pitch by a conveyor 16. Bars 36 of a holding conveyor 23 which is cyclically turned above enter between the adjacent loop parts 12a of the coil 12 when the loop parts 12a incline gradually while the coil is conveyed, thereby receiving the loop parts in the mid-way of inclination. The loop parts 12a are thus held in the spaced state at a prescribed distance without being overlapped on each other and are conveyed into a duct 46 where the coil is regulated and cooled by the cold air in the direction opposite from the conveying direction from a fan and the water mist sprayed from a water mist generator 55. |
