The invention relates to the field of optics. The optical system which is the subject of the invention is characterised in that it comprises an additional objective with a mirror 22, of the same radius of curvature as the principal objectives with mirrors 6, 9 and mechanically connected with the support 8, a means for rotation about an axis parallel to the line of the matrix of images 26, joined to the said support 8, and an auxiliary collecting mirror 25 of the same radius or curvature, placed beside the principal collecting mirror 24. The invention may be used in particular for determining the composition of the atmosphere and the microconcentrations of the pollutants therein. <IMAGE>
