PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium having improved sensitivity, S/N, etc. by forming an optical recording layer in which a dichromatic dye is chemically bonded with a high mol.wt. compd. and is thus incorporated on a base plate thereby changing reflectivity, transmittivity, etc. without forming pits. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording layer in which a dichromatic cyanine dye, merocyanine dye, polymethyne dye or the like is chemically bonded with a high polymer compd. having preferably >=200,000mol.wt. and is thus incorporated is formed on a base plate. A slon. contg. the dicyanine dye expressed by, for example, the formula I and if necessary, the transition metal chelate compd. of Ni, etc. expressed by the formula II as a quencher and the titanate, etc. expressed by the formula II as a crosslinking agent is coated on the base plate and is heated for about 1hr at 80 deg.C, by which the optical recording medium subjected to crosslinking reaction is formed. Writing with good sensitivity is thus made possible with relatively small energy. The reflectivity, polarizing characteristic, etc. are changed without forming pits and the optical recording medium which has improved sensitivity, S/N and erasing performance and permits repetitive erasing is thus obtd. |
