Protein-hydrolysates were neutralized to give a ppt. rich in leucine and the resultant solution was allowed to stand for 3 days to give a ppt. rich in cystine and tyrosine. The solution rich in leucine was solublized by an acid solution and oxidant was added to the oxidize methionine. Thus, leucine was purified from acidic solution at a pH 1.0-2.0.
