PURPOSE:To obtain a dot printer in which a magnetic ink is not spilt when moving an ink tank or when recovering the ink into the ink tank, by a construction wherein a member for holding a magnetic ink is contained in an ink tank. CONSTITUTION:A pair of ink film forming plates 21 are fitted to a printing head 6 moved along a recording paper wound around a platen 2, and the plates 21 are provided with a magnetic field slit 24 for adhering a magnetic ink 29 to needles 16. The head 6 is provided with the ink tank 26 communicated with a lower part of the plates 21, an ink cassette 28 reserving the magnetic ink 29 is detachably fitted to the ink tank 26, and a member for holding the ink 29 (e.g., a member consisting of a multiplicity of fiber form fine strings 34) is contained in the ink tank 26. |
