<p>A pile fibre includes a support from which pile fibres project, the support and the fibres being formed by moulding. The fabric is moulded from a polymer which can be reticulated, and reticulation is effected during moulding of the pile fibres. Pref. the pile fibres have a mean dia. of 0.005-0.05 cm and a mean length of 0.01-5.0 cm. Pref. the fibres have a specific density of 0.10-0.50 and a modulus of elasticity of 15-15000 kg/cm2. The fabric. is pref. produced from a copolymer or mixt. of an olefin, a vinyl, a dienic cpd. an ester or a urethane. When producing long thin pile fibres they are not damaged when the fabric is removed from the mould.</p> |
