PURPOSE: A tension shadow mask-frame assembly of a cathode ray tube for controlling tension is provided to lower a total weight of a frame and irregularity of the amount of tension and control the amount of tension according to each position. CONSTITUTION: A frame is formed with a couple of long side portions(11) and a couple of short side portions. The frame is coupled with an inner wall of a panel. A shadow mask has an aperture area and a non-aperture area. End portions of each long side portion of the shadow mask are fixed to a vertical portion of an L-shaped long side portion(11) of the frame. A plurality of electron beam passing holes is formed on the aperture area. The electron beam passing holes are not formed on the non-aperture area. A plurality of tensioning portion is installed at each end portion of the long side portions(11). A connection portion is inserted into each end portion of the tensioning portions. A connection bar is used for connecting an inside of the long side portion(11) with the connection portion. The tensioning portions are formed with a couple of tensioning bars, a screw portion, and a rotary member. The connection bar is inserted into a plurality of pushing block.
