The sensitivity of a photographic silver halide emulsion in a molten or set and undried state is increased by applying thereto a pressure of at least 15 p.s.i. Pressure may be applied for 1 to 24 hours in a bomb under pneumatic pressure at a temperature of 40 to 65‹C. whilst agitating the emulsion. The emulsion may be an internal latent image emulsion or a direct positive emulsion fogged with thiourea dioxide and potassium chloroaurate. |
