A method of temporarily mooring a floating structure (10), comprising steps of: (a) connecting first ends (36) of a plurality of temporary mooring lines (18) to anchor means (20) positioned on a floor (16) of a body of water (14); (b) connecting a plurality of pendant lines (40) to second ends (38) of said temporary mooring lines; (c) connecting said pendant lines to retrieval means (60) attached to said floating structure; (d) retrieving said pendant lines and a portion of each of said temporary mooring lines onto said floating structure until said floating structure is located approximately at a position directly above said anchor means; and (e) tensioning said temporary mooring lines.
