The invention relates to a pile-foundation method for drilling and/or production platforms. For this purpose, the foundation piles 3 of hollow design are inserted already in dock into third guide rings 4c and are floated into position together with the standing legs 1a to 1c and are set down at the location. After the standing legs 1a to 1c are set down on the seabed 2, a pile driver 7, held by a carrying rope 9, is let down by means of a floating crane 8. First and second guide rings 4a and 4b respectively are provided to guide the pile driver 7 along one of the standing legs 1a or 1b, 1c. A transition guide 10 (Fig. 9) designed as a partly closed sheet-metal part serves to transfer the standing leg 1a or 1b, 1c from the perpendicular direction into the inclined direction. So that it can follow the curvature of this transition guide 10, the pile driver 7 is of two-piece construction and is connected by a joint 30 which permits swivelling movements in only one plane (Fig. 8). During the first pile-driving blows, predetermined breaking points are opened at the base and at the head side of the foundation piles 3 so that water and the seabed can penetrate into them in order to now remove the undesirable buoyancy, so that the penetration of the foundation piles is assisted. <IMAGE>
