The invention relates to a Grenadier facing lintel as a prefabricated, substantially right-parallelepipedal compound unit, which comprises L-shaped facing bricks with a cast concrete member (18), which fills the angular region enclosed by the legs of the bricks. Projecting axially at each of the two longitudinal ends of the lintel is a butt strap, which is part of an angle of which the section bearing against the longitudinal end concerned is firmly connected to a reinforcing part extending into the cast concrete member.
