In a spinning or twisting machine, an apparatus for carrying out doffing operations provided with an automatic bobbin changer, removes the bobbin with a full yarn package and loads an empty bobbin onto a row of spindles. In the doffing apparatus, the bobbin grasper starts its return when the bottom of a bobbin is located in a lower position than the top of a spindle. The dopping bars, which are mounted on the upper-back part of the bobbin grasping part, are capable of rotating around a support axis stretched horizontally for a row of spindles.
