PURPOSE:To prevent crack thus to improve the durability of an engine part made entirely or partially with FRP where many long fibers are bonded with resin, by adding specific wt% of soft metal scale into resin. CONSTITUTION:An engine part such as a piston 1 is formed by coupling a metal top portion 2 and FRP skirt section 3. Here, 30-80wt% of soft metal such as aluminum or copper scale is added in the resin for forming the skirt section 3 or FRP resin 4 composed of fibers 5. Consequently, thermal expansion at the restion portion in FRP can be suppressed as much as possible to protect the resin portion 4 from crack due to differential thermal expansion between resin 4 and fiber portions resulting in improvement of durability. |
