<p>A sample of a body fluid is placed in a cylinder carrying at one end a filter. Treating liqs. are drawn into and discharged from the cylinder through the filter. The treating liqs. react with the cells to place them in a desired condition for subsequent analysis. The discharge of the liqs. also removes undesired liq. components from the sample. The method and appts are used to prepare cells for subsequent analysis. The cells may be tissue cells, blood cells, marrow cells or cells of microorganisms such as bacteria or fungi. The cells are all treated with the liqs. e.g. stains. Also there is little danger of cells from different patients becoming mixed.</p> |
