PURPOSE:To provide a cosmetic having remarkably improved skin-beautifying effect, and containing vitamin E and pure brown pigment extracted from crude sugar. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic having synergistically improved skin-beautifying effect can be produced by compounding a cosmetic base with (A) 0.001-2wt% one or more vitamine E compounds (e.g. alpha-tocopherol, beta-tocopherol, gamma-tocopherol, delta-tocopherol, tocopherol acetate, tocopherol nicotinate, etc.) and (B) 0.00001- 3wt% essentially pure pigment extracted from crude sugar (sugar pigment). The sugar pigment is a brown hygroscopic powder having slight scorch smell and moderate bitter taste, soluble in water and alcohol, insoluble in benzene, etc., exhibiting about 7.5pH as 1% aqueous solution, containing N, O, C and H by elemental analysis, and extractable from sugar cone, beet, etc. |
