<p>Route information posts are distributed at strategic points around the site. The user places a card, bearing a coded geographical destination, onto card-readers (6,7) on the angled face (2,3) of the pillar (1). The code e.g. a bar-code, is decoded and fed together with a post identification signal to a central processor. The processor then causes a plan or written instructions to be displayed on a screen (5) on the flat top (4) of the pillar. The cards can be sent to prospective visitors by exhibitors or may be obtained from automatic information posts linked to the central processor. They may also be printed in appropriate trade magazines, etc.</p> |
