<p>A process is provided for the manufacture of an incombustible adhesive material which encapsulates fibres and permits spraying onto a standard incombustible insulation. This adhesive material is prepared in the form of a liquid mixture in which the ingredients of the mixture are basically incompatible and into which the ingredients are added with continuous agitation, in a particular order, and after the incompatible liquid constituents have been placed together these are caused to combine by agitation, during a sufficient period of time to make the mixture substantially inseparable. Through curing the adhesive mixture forms a solid pliable or flexible mass which has good surface adhesion. When in the liquid form the mixture has the property of effectively penetrating and encapsulating fibres, making hazardous fibres non-viable and incombustible.</p> |
