<p>PURPOSE:To reduce effect of air bubbles produced in the coolant for cooling the panel, by arranging a liquid-cooled projection cathode ray tube such that the shorter side of the panel is disposed in the horizontal direction and the raster is horizontally scanned in parallel with the longer side. CONSTITUTION:A liquid-cooled projection cathode ray tube for an projection television apparatus is formed such that a transparent panel 3 is placed spaced apart in front of the phosphor screen panel 2 of the cathode ray tube, a metallic radiator 1 in a frame form is attached to the circumferences of both the panels with adhesive 4, and a liquid coolant 5 of ethylene glycol solution or the like is filled in the space therebetween. The cathode ray tube is arranged such that the shorter side of the panel 2 of the cathode ray tube is disposed in the horizontal direction and the raster 6 is horizontally scanned on the panel 2 in parallel with its longer side. By the described arrangement, there are provided upper and lower margins in the portion in which the coolant 5 is filled, and since air bubbles produced in the cooland concentrates in the upper margin, the raster 6 is provided with sufficient allowance for the bubbles not to interfere therewith.</p> |
