A potentiometer for the focussing or screen grid regulation in television sets has an electrical resistance layer on a supporting plate 2, which resistance layer is connected to at least one connecting tab (5) which is passed to the exterior. In order in this case to achieve a solder-free electrical connection with a simple construction and also a mechanical connection to stationary connecting parts without any additional aids, the connecting tab 5 has a sprung contact clasp 6 on its free end. The contact clasp 6 is arranged on the side of the supporting plate 2 facing away from the resistance layer and is freely accessible via the housing side which is constructed correspondingly open. <IMAGE>
