PURPOSE:To form a gas permselective membrane excellent in gas separability, by using a blend material of polyphenylene oxide and a silicone alternating copolymer having good compatibility with said polyphenylene oxide as main components. CONSTITUTION:This gas permselective membrane is formed of a mixture based on polyphenylene oxide represented by formula I [wherein (m) is 1-3 and X is H, an alkyl group or a halogenated alkyl group] and a silicone alternating copolymer. The silicone alternating copolymer is represented by formula II(wherein Y is a phenyl group, a diphenyl group, a diphenyl ether group, a diphenylethane group, a diphenylpropane group or a derivative group thereof and R1 and R2 are an alkyl group or a halogenated alkyl group). This membrane is extremely excellent in gas permeability and gas separability and especially suitable for extracting oxygen rich air from air. |
