PURPOSE:To shorten the access time of a magnetic head by providing plural magnetic heads for one face of a magnetic disc and simultaneously providing a switching circuit of these magnetic heads to the titled device. CONSTITUTION:A carriage 5 is provided with magnetic heads 11 and 12. Heads 11 and 12 are arranged at a certain interval along the radial direction of a magnetic disc 1, and the carriage 5 is moved in the radial direction, and the head 11 is allowed to take charge of tracks from an outermost circumferential track 3 to a track 7, and the head 12 is allowed to take charge of tracks from a track 8 to an innermost circumferential track 4. A track deciding circuit 15 decides the track subjected to recording/reproducing by the signal of a magnetic head access circuit 14 and outputs the decided result to a magnetic head switching circuit 16, and the switching circuit 16 outputs a signal to operate the magnetic head 11 or 12. In case of recording, heads 11 and 12 are switched alternately and successively to write data in order of track numbers such as 0, 40, 1, 41, 2-. |
