PURPOSE:To suppress temperature rise in the whole of a catalyst body and reduce its deterioration due to heat by providing a pre-mixture gas supply opening for fuel and air, a cooling gas supply opening for a catalyst body, and a combustion exhaust gas discharge opening and installing the cooling gas supply opening for the catalyst body substantially on the central axis of the catalyst body & opposite to the front face of the catalyst body. CONSTITUTION:A pre-mixture gas for combustion is sent from a pre-mixture gas supply opening 1 for fuel and air to a catalyst body 3. The pre-mixture gas makes catalystic combustion while it passes through the through-hole 4 of the catalyst body 3, and on the other hand a catalyst body cooling gas flows through the through-hole 4 near the center of the catalyst body 3 and absorbs the heat generated by the combustion of the fuel in the through-hole 4, and since the cooling gas mixes with the exhaust gas, the combustion heat does not stay in the catalyst body 3 but exits rapidly out of the system, reducing the temperature of the catalyst body 3 to 200-300 deg.C for the same volume and the same amount of combustion with the result of extending the life of the catalyst body 3 more than twice the ordinary life. |
