PURPOSE:To prevent introduction of dust, fine particles of a heat-insulating material, etc. into a bearing box of a steam turbine, by providing a dust-proof cover between an oil thrower and a heat-insulating support plate of a shaft packing holder which is disposed adjacently of the oil thrower. CONSTITUTION:A dust-proof cover 63 is disposed between the outside of an oil thrower 60 disposed near a bearing box 10 of a steam turbine and a heat-insulating support plate 81 of a shaft packing holder 80 disposed adjacently of the oil thrower 60. The cover 63 is disposed in a circular form by stacking rectangular fabric sheets tightly so that it conforms to the circular form of the holder plate 81 and a heat-shielding plate 62, and it is fixed to the packing holder 80 by means of bolts 65 in the manner that it is held tightly between the holder 81 and a retainer plate 64. Here, the lower half of the cover 63 is opened for introduction of air. By thus providing a cover 63, introduction of dust or the like into the bearing box 10 can be prevented. |
