PURPOSE:To perform a surface treatment enabling printing even on a curved surface by a method wherein a sheet member obtained by laminating a hot melting adhesive layer, a surface treating layer and a water soluble film layer sequentially is heated, floated on the water surface so as to carry exterior parts for a timepiece on the hot melting adhesive layer and then, immersed into water. CONSTITUTION:A sheet member 1 at least three layers i.e. a hot melting adhesive layer (e.g. acrylic resin) 2, a surface treating layer (e.g. oil-soluble print layer with a pictorial pattern or the like) 3 and a water-soluble film layer (substrate) 4 is passed through a heater 5 to melt the hot melting adhesive layer 2. The sheet member is floated on the water surface so as to glue timepiece exterior parts (timepiece case) 7 on the hot melting adhesive layer 2 while the water-soluble film layer 4 is peeled off. At this point, a water pressure works on the entire outer surface thereof so that the hot melting adhesive layer 2 adheres to not only the flat portions of the timepiece exterior parts 7 but also curved- surface portions with a small curvature to complete the surface treatment. |
