Clutch mechanism, especially for a motor vehicle, whose behaviour is enhanced. The pressure plate 18 of the clutch mechanism M is coupled to a cover 10 of this mechanism by tangential tabs 19 which it is desirable to protect. To this end, each tab 19 is endowed with a bearing bracket 40 which follows it closely and which is fixed to the cover 10 by the rivet 20 which fixes the tab. The tab normally has a partly open position with respect to the bearing bracket, but is adapted, when the clutch mechanism is dismantled from the vehicle, to be received lying along the length of the bearing bracket 40, which makes it impossible to bend it beyond a limit position of safety for its behaviour. <IMAGE>
