PURPOSE:To execute easily a leakage inspection by a simple device by observing a corresponding signal from an acoustic wave sensor installed in an emergency cutoff valve or its adjacent pipe, in case when a process in which the emergency cutoff valve is closed, and a gas pressure is applied to the upstream side generated. CONSTITUTION:An acoustic wave sensor (microphone) 3 is installed in an emergency cutoff valve 1 or its adjacent pipe 2. For instance, in a gas boiler in which the emergency cutoff valve 1 is a constituent element, in case when a gas pressure in an outlet of a main burner 11 rises or drops abnormally, or in case when a discharge pressure of an air blower 6 drops, and in case when a flame is extinguished, the emergency cutoff valve 1 is closed by a signal from pressure switches 12, 13, and a flame monitoring device 9, respectively. Subsequently, a gas pressure is applied to the upstream side until a main valve 5 is closed. When leakage occurs between the upstream side and the downstream side of the valve 1, a jet sound is generated, by which a signal is generated from a signal generating device 4 in accordance with a signal from the sensor 3, and whether leakage exists or not can be detected easily. |
