Electronic hybrid arrangement

A variable equaliser (E1) controlled by the output signal of a control circuit (RS) is inserted in the reception arm of the hybrid circuit (GS) between its output and the input of an echo canceller (EK). The peak value of the output signal (Sr) of the echo canceller (EK) is compared by the control circuit (RS) at least approximately with a reference voltage (Ur), the time constant of the control circuit (RS) being greater than that of the echo canceller (EK). A signal (Sr) which has a very small residual echo is thus available at the output of the echo canceller (EK). <IMAGE>
