The device has means for entering, storing, acoustically reproducing and transferring voice information to other devices for storing and reproducing there, as well as a generator for generating digital identification signal words characterising the voice information and able to be stored on the voice information storing means. These words comprise a plurality of signal elements which represent, for example, information such as dates, keywords, names, classification particulars, etc. They can be generated by an alphanumeric keyboard and can be displayed optically and/or acoustically on a display device. Voice information and digital identification signal words can be stored on separate areas of the storing means. Furthermore, digital identification signal words can be stored only at times when voice information is not being entered on the storing means.
