PURPOSE:To obtain required edge shape by reciprocal movement reversing at randomly arranged reversal points according to a fundamental traverse pattern based on an edge shape of a cross-wound yarn cone. CONSTITUTION:A cross-wound cone is formed by rotating a yarn winding bobbin 2 contacted by a friction roller 1 while making a traverse guide 3 perform traverse movement by means of a servomotor 5. Here, the distance between the outermost reversal point S0 of the traverse stroke and the innermost reversal point S1 set inside by a round edge width L from the point S0 is divided by a number of points with reversal frequencies allotted to each point. A number of reversal points, corresponding to such frequencies are actually prepared at random, so that traverse movements are made by reversing at such reversal points, according to a fundamental traverse pattern set based on an edge shape of a cross-wound yarn cone. Thus, round-edge setting of the cross-wound yarn cone is easily made with a favorable edge shape while preventing ribboning. |
