A method for reducing surface melt fracture during extrusion of a molten narrow molecular weight distribution, linear, ethylene polymer wherein the polymer is extended through a die having a die land (C) and a die gap (16) formed by opposing arc shaped die lip surfaces, and wherein the ratio of the length of the die land (C) to the die gap (16) is within the range of about 20:1 to 50:1.
