PURPOSE:To improve the steering stability, in a steering system provided with a buffer between chassis and steering system, by reducing the damping force of buffer only under low speed travel on good pavement in accordance to the outputs from car speed detecting means and pavement condition detecting means. CONSTITUTION:In a buffer 11 having one end coupled through a rubber bush 18 to chassis 3 and the other end coupled through a bearing member 32 to the relay rod in steering system, a bypath 26 for communicating between left and right chambers A, B while detouring an oil through-hole 23 made in a piston 15 to be inserted into the inner cylinder 11 of double structure cylinder 12 is formed in the pistion rod 16. The damping force is made adjustable by opening/closing the oil path 26 through a valve body 27 to be rotated by motor 34 through a rod 29. Here, the motor 34 is controlled by a control circuit for receiving the output signals from car speed detecting means and pavement condition detecting means such that the damping force is reduced under low speed travel on good pavement while increased under other condition. |
