PURPOSE:To diagnose easily a channel adapter by loading a control program which simulates the equivalent operation of a channel opposite normally to a channel adapter in the memory of the channel adapter. CONSTITUTION:When an opposition test is executed between channel adapters, a channel adapter opposition test mode is selected on the keyboard and display of SVP (service processor part) 10 and two channel adapters to be tested are selected successively; and one is set in channel adapter mode and the other is placed in channel mode. The SVP10 sends control data to a central arithmetic par 2' so as to load a test program for the channel adapter in a main storage part 3'. Further, a test program load address and test program data are transferred from the SVP10 to a center arithmetic control part 2', and consequently signals are transmitted and received between the opposite channel adapters to execute the test. |
