The invention relates to a transportable habitation cell which can be used statically or on a vehicle, which is composed of a lower portion 2 formed from panels 4, 5, 6, 7 which are rigidly assembled into a parallelepiped, and of an upper portion 3 formed from folding rigid panels covered by a roof 18, this latter portion being collapsable and being able to assume an opened-out use configuration, where its panels are erect and its roof is in the high position, and a folded-up transporting configuration, where its panels are collapsed flat onto each other and its roof is in the down position. A stair 22 for access to the upper portion is integrated into the equipment of the lower portion. <IMAGE>
