PURPOSE:To lengthen the life of a catalyst by a method wherein a catalyst body is formed by assembling elements, in which active carrier and the catalyst are attached to the periphery of a pillar type carrier, and making mixed gas flow path spaces between the elements, in the gas turbine combustor for gas turbine generator. CONSTITUTION:The catalyst body consists of the assembled body of elements and the assembled bodies are arranged so that the spaces for flow paths are provided between the elements in order to flow the mixed gas around the peripheries of the elements freely. The catalyst is formed by arranging the elements, in which the active carriers and the catalysts are attached to the round ceramic carrier of 1mm. diameter and 50mm. length for example, with approximately 1mm. pitch. According to this method, the mixed gas of fuel and air flows through the space between the elements, the shuttling motion of the mixed gas in the area of the catalyst body is permitted, the distributions of temperature and fuel concetration in the section of the catalyst body may be uniformed, combustion may be effected efficiently and the life of the catalyst may be lengthened. |
